About the Opportunity
Samuel Smith & Son is now on the lookout for their newest National Publishing Service (NPS) team member. An opportunity exists for a Graphic Design Support & Administration professional to join the Alexandria, Sydney office on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the National Publishing Service Manager, you’ll be responsible for performing administrative / reception duties and completing design work.
More specifically, some of your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Responding to phone, oral and written requests for information and directing communications as required;
- Booking in design jobs, and managing the booking sheet and NPS request forms;
- Completing design work for NPS products, on time and on demand;
- Liaising with all Area, Sales and State Managers on an ongoing basis, to ensure standards are being maintained to customers' expectations; and
- Performing data entry, updating and maintaining NPS workflow statistics, and performing other administrative duties as required.
Samuel Smith & Son is seeking candidates with a Degree or Advanced Certificate in Design, and familiarity with the Adobe Create Suite (in particular with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator). Competency in the use of Excel, or ability to quickly learn this program, is required. As you will be the first point of contact for customers, it's essential you be outgoing and sociable, with clear communication skills, a focus on customer service and a professional phone manner.
This role will be well suited to someone with 1-2 years' graphic design experience, however recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. You'll be keen to enter the corporate world and have a desire to learn from experienced professionals.
This is an autonomous role working within a small team. As such, you will need to be able to work both independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues. You'll be proactive yet willing to ask for help when needed, and won't hesitate to roll up your sleeves and jump into any task at hand to assist both customers and your team. Adaptable and organised, you’ll thrive within this fast-paced and diverse workplace, effectively managing competing priorities and meeting set deadlines.
Wine industry experience is not essential.
