About the Opportunity
Samuel Smith & Son has an opportunity for a Graphic Designer to join their team based in Alexandria, Sydney, on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the National Publishing Service Manager and working in conjunction with the Graphic Designer team, you’ll be responsible for contributing to design and layout work, and producing packaging / product designs on behalf of Samuel Smith & Son and its subsidiaries.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, printing and quality finishing of requests on time and on demand;
- Maintaining a leading edge with design by following innovations and fashions;
- Overseeing the upkeep of booking sheets and other documents;
- Proofreading documents and artwork before publication;
- Liaising with customers to ensure requests are followed through and deadlines are met; and
- Maintaining close relationships with all area, sales, and state managers to ensure standards are maintained to customer expectations.
Samuel Smith & Son is seeking a driven graphic designer who has at least 2-3 years’ experience within a similar in-house graphic designer position, ideally in a print-based capacity. Successful candidates will be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
With a dynamic and committed approach, you’ll enjoy producing high quality, unique works that reflect innovations and trends within the industry. As a conceptual thinker, you'll have the ability to think outside of the box to create striking pieces, and will always be looking for new ways to listen and advance your skill set. Adaptable and organised, you’ll thrive within this fast-paced and diverse workplace, effectively managing competing priorities and meeting set deadlines.
Wine industry experience is not essential.
