About the Opportunity

Samuel Smith & Son has an opportunity available for a dedicated National Logistics Coordinator to take on a newly created role within their team. This is a full-time role, based in the Barossa Valley.

Reporting to the National Logistics Manager, you will be working within a national warehouse and logistics network to establish controls, measures and reporting. You will also act as a facilitator in driving continuous improvement processes.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Scheduling and executing monthly tasks, such as monthly reconciliations and targets for stock and pallet count cycles;
  • Monitoring standard work practices; 
  • Maintaining National Logistics procedures and training records within the safety system; and
  • Scheduling and executing longer-term strategies for project work.

This is an exciting opportunity to really make this role your own. You’ll have the opportunity to develop the position in conjunction with the National Logistics Manager, where your ideas and recommendations will be welcomed.

About You 

The successful candidate will come from a background in a logistics / warehousing environment, with a strong understanding of stock control and warehouse process. Due to the nature of the role, any experience with continuous improvement initiatives would be highly beneficial.

This is a fast-paced and multifaceted role that requires the adaptability to work across functions. You will be the type of person who thrives in a busy, results-focused environment. In addition, you'll be proficient in the use of Excel and demonstrate a strong analytical scope.

Although you will not have any direct reports, it is important you demonstrate both strong teamwork and leadership ability. You'll aim to help develop a high-performing team and will share in collective performance improvement accomplishments.

With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders. You'll be confident in your skills and knowledge, ensuring you are respected as a trusted advisor across the business.
